LOCAL TEXT RECOGNITION

Ready as text.

An error message, a quotation, an important note: recognize text in your images and copy it where you need it. Snaprivo runs OCR locally using Apple Vision.

THREE SIMPLE STEPS

From a screenshot to copied text.

  1. Open your image.

Take a screenshot or open an existing image in the editor. Choose a capture in which the text you need is easy to read.

  2. Recognize text locally.

Start text recognition and review the result. Processing happens on your Mac; image content is not uploaded to an OCR service for this operation.

  3. Check and use it.

Copy the recognized text into a document, your notes or a support request. Compare names, numbers and unusual characters with the original before using them.

Less retyping. More context.

When you cannot select an error message, capture it in a screenshot and extract the text with OCR. You can paste its exact wording into a support request and keep the image as visual context.

Text recognition can make mistakes. Small type, low contrast and unusual characters may produce incorrect results. Review the copied text before relying on it or passing it on.

Find your captures by the words inside them.

Optional local image text search helps you find captures through visible words in the image. Content indexing is off by default. When enabled, Snaprivo builds a local, rebuildable search cache; turning indexing off removes it.

Direct text recognition in the editor is separate. Its dialog result is not saved in the project or search index. You can copy text from a single image without turning on content indexing for your library.

Are my images uploaded for OCR?

No. Snaprivo uses Apple Vision locally on your Mac. A cloud-synced storage folder you choose may still be synchronized by its provider, independently of text recognition.

Can Snaprivo recognize sensitive information?

Pro can suggest possible email addresses, phone numbers and IBAN-like numbers. Review the matches and cover selected areas. Recognition can miss details, so check the image before sharing and export a flattened image.

Do I need image text search for a single screenshot?

No. Direct OCR in the editor and optional content indexing in the library are separate features. Both are included in Pro.
