Screen recording, trimming and GIF export in Pro

Optional system audio and micTrim the beginning and endMP4 or GIF clips up to 15 seconds

THREE SIMPLE STEPS

Record. Trim. Share.

  1. Prepare the recording.

Choose a region, a window or your screen. Decide whether system audio, microphone and mouse-click highlights will help explain your workflow.

  2. Show the process.

Perform the steps you want someone else to follow. A countdown gives you time to prepare the right starting point.

  3. Keep what matters.

Review the recording in the built-in preview and trim the beginning and end. Export an MP4 video or a short segment as an animated GIF.

A bug that needs to be seen.

Some problems only happen after a sequence of clicks. Use a screen recording to show the initial state, your action and the unexpected result. Optional mouse-click highlights make it easier to see where you clicked.

For a short tutorial, turn on your microphone and explain the process as you go. System audio and microphone are optional for each recording, so you choose the audio sources before starting.

Choose the format that fits your explanation.

MP4 lets you share a video with its recorded audio. A GIF shows a short process without sound. Snaprivo supports GIF clips up to 15 seconds, such as a small interaction you want to include in a guide.

Trimming leaves the original intact. Videos have a separate local library and backup. Editing focuses on shortening the beginning and end, making it straightforward to prepare a screen recording for sharing.

Which permissions does recording need?

macOS asks for screen access. Microphone access is requested only when you enable the microphone for a recording. You manage these permissions in System Settings.

Does an exported GIF include audio?

No. GIF export is intended for short, silent clips up to 15 seconds. Choose MP4 if recorded audio needs to remain part of your explanation.

Which devices support Snaprivo?

Snaprivo is being developed for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 26 or later. The app is not yet available as a public download. Screen recording is part of Pro.
